This Heriz carpet is a beautiful example of Persian carpet craftsmanship. Its rustic design is a testament to its durability. It was hand-knotted in the city of Heriz, which is located near Tabriz in north-west Iran. Anyone looking for a Persian rug that will give pleasure for a long time and is highly modern will love this Heriz. The ornaments of Heriz rugs are extremely popular today and are seen as very modern. You will never give up a rug like this again.

Village / nomad rug

This rug belongs to village and nomadic rugs from Iran, formerly Persia. This type of rug is knotted by hand in smaller towns and villages in old tradition. Even nomads still knot Persian rugs in the open air. The rugs are knotted without a draft and completely from the mind. They are characterized by classical ornaments, which are arranged in straight and geometrical patterns. Thanks to their cultural-traditional origin, these rugs have a unique character that embodies ancient Persia.

Handspun wool

This rug is made of hand spun sheep wool of the highest quality. Especially in Iran (former Persia), Afghanistan and Pakistan wool is still spun by hand before the actual knotting of the rug begins. Wool has proven itself as a natural and extremely hard-wearing material over centuries. Among other things, it has dirt-repellent and heat-insulating properties. At the same time, wool is incomparably soft and has a natural shine.

Woven by hand

This rug was made as a flat weave by hand on a loom. Flatweave is the term used to describe rugs that have no pile. As the name promises, these rugs are woven and not knotted. This results in a flat rug with a structured surface. Flatweaves are not as soft and usually thinner than knotted rugs. At the same time they are much less complex to manufacture and can usually be laid out from both sides (front and back). Their patterns are usually geometric, which is determined by the fabric.
